Feed the Earth: Urban Composting for Beginners
With this project, we aim to address the global problem of climate change and ecological crisis, as well as the local problem of lack of education among the citizens of Novi Sad about environmental protection, primarily through the possibility of composting (the process of organic material degradation) which enables more efficient waste management, consequently reducing it, and thereby contributing to environmental protection. Simultaneously, we want to point out the possibilities that each individual has to actively participate in solving the waste problem and to give citizens of Novi Sad the opportunity to learn about the separation of organic waste and to practice it.
The project involves 6 composting workshops – traditional and bokashi composting for beginners. In addition, the workshops will be accompanied by a social media campaign aimed at bringing composting processes and methods closer to all those interested who have not attended the workshops. As part of the traditional composting workshops, participants will make composters that will be donated to various formal and informal initiatives, organizations, and collectives.
The project is being realized with the support of the regional project SMART Balkan – Civil Society for Connected Western Balkans, which is implemented by the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD), Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway. The total support amount is 7000 euros
