European Solidarity Corps

Volunteering

ESC is a program of the European Commission, which is intended for all young people ages 17 to 30 and gives them the opportunity to get to know and gain experience in a foreign country through volunteering programs. There are short-term (up to 2 months) and long-term programs (up to one year). Long-term volunteering through the ESC program can be done only once, while a combination of short-term and long-term projects is possible as well (up to a maximum of 12 months).

Conditions

Each ESC project aims at mutual support in the development of the volunteer and the local community in which the volunteer works. This leads to the establishment of new friendships and exchanging of experiences. The topics of the projects vary, including environmental protection, cultural heritage, art, culture, sports, working with young or old people, etc.

Financing

ESC projects cover travel, health insurance and visa costs. Food and accommodation are provided, ie. free, as well as online or offline language classes, mentoring support, and pocket money each month.

Find a project for yourself

If you want to find a project for yourself, visit the European Solidarity Corps link database of all current projects and open positions. The ESC project database can be searched based on different criteria (topic, country, duration, etc.).

There is also an application through which it is possible to create an account and receive notifications regarding projects that match the set search criteria.
