Comrades on the road
The work, activism, volunteer work of individuals and collectives involved in providing support to people on the move and/or raising the visibility of their struggles are very little recognized and visible in society. They often experience not only misunderstanding and lack of support, but also hate speech and discrimination.
The series of online meetings Comrades on the road: Women’s activism on the Western Balkans route gave an opportunity to activists living in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia to present their work, experience, views and perspectives on freedom of movement and asylum in our region and people from local communities and other organizations and collectives got a space to get acquainted with direct experiences and the real situation on the ground when talking about people on the move (asylum seekers, refugees, migrants) and the communities in which they reside or pass by.
